About the USLS
The 11th University Scholars Leadership Symposium (USLS) is a transformative event that serves as a crucial aspect of learning away from the classroom. It provides students with a unique platform to gain invaluable insights, cultivate leadership skills, and contribute to the sustainable development agenda set by the United Nations. The symposium, supported by 10 United Nations Agencies, will be held in the United Nations Conference Centre, Bangkok, from August 1 to 4, 2023.
Highlights
One of the highlights of this event is the exhibition set up by 10 UN agencies, showcasing the remarkable work and impact they have made in various domains. The UN exhibition aims to create awareness among participants about the diverse systems and initiatives undertaken by the United Nations. Students will have the opportunity to engage with representatives from these agencies, fostering a deeper understanding of global issues and potential solutions.
Additionally, I am pleased to inform you that 7 UN agencies will conduct workshops during the symposium. These workshops will delve into specific topics, empowering our students with practical knowledge, skills, and strategies to address pressing global challenges. The engagement with these agencies will be a tremendous opportunity for our students to enhance their understanding of international development, intercultural communication, and collaboration.
Also, the participants will get their hands dirty by planting trees, cleaning the river, building fish habitats, and serving those communities in need.
Keynote Address
The keynote address at the 11th University Scholars Leadership Symposium will be delivered by Ms Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of UN ESCAP. Your students will be privileged to hear from a prominent figure working towards a better world.
Attending the USLS will offer your student a chance to connect with like-minded individuals from around the globe, fostering cross-cultural exchanges and lifelong friendships. Moreover, the symposium will provide a stimulating environment where participants can collaborate on social initiatives, develop innovative ideas, and create partnerships that transcend borders. Such experiences are invaluable for personal growth, cultural sensitivity, and a well-rounded education.
I believe that the student nominated by you is an exceptional candidate for this symposium, possessing the qualities, passion, and dedication necessary to contribute positively to the event and bring back invaluable insights to your institution. The knowledge gained, and the connections formed at the USLS will undoubtedly serve as a springboard for their personal and professional development, opening doors to endless possibilities.
